B.C. enhances consumer protection for homebuyers

Financial Services Authority’s advice on ways we can offer home buyers better protection. As a first key action from this advice, a homebuyer protection period will come into effect that will give homebuyers an opportunity to take important steps, such as securing financing or arranging home inspections, as they prepare to make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lifetime. These homebuyer protection period regulations are an important first step we’re taking to enhance consumer protection, while at the same time protecting the interest of people selling their homes.
